SPNG / C&C KEARSARGE STATION

This is just a small route of the old kearsarge / citrus station. Witch used to sit right outside of the town of independence in Inyo county.
originally the depot was a stagecoach freight house from 1866 to 1883 when the carson and colorado railroad came through and it became a railroad depot. around the depot a section house was put up along with a bunk house and a private residence along with a water tower. The station served the town of independence and several nearby mines. In the later days of the railroad when southern pacific took over a rail speeder shed was added and an ore bin on a nearby hill was erected around that time as well which is still there today.
